Towards Tarot of London

A route from observation into a new deck.

Early tarot cards on a research table, magnifying glass, sketchbook, pencils, notes, museum atmosphere, no mystical cliches.

The Parot also prepares ground for Tarot of London, a deck shaped by streets, archives, work, theatre and weather.

The route begins with the Rider Waite Smith images because they remain astonishingly practical.

By looking closely at one deck, the project learns how another might be made without becoming a costume.

Sketches are sorted by borough, symbol, occupation and recurring urban scene.
